3 tricks to warm your cold limbs

Too much sedentary work, little exercise, caffeine contained in coffee and black tea, an insufficient supply of magnesium and an improper diet can all be responsible for the way you feel like your hands and legs are cold and damp for months on end. In the past, I often ended up waiting to get home and warm up.

Don't forget that quickly washing your hands in hot water isn't the best solution.

Let me suggest 3 tried and tested tips instead:

  1. Warm, oily massage
Warm in your palm or on a heater a pea-sized ball of shea butter or coconut oil and thoroughly massage both feet from your toes up to your heels. You can intensify the effect by mixing the oil with a few drops of your favourite essential oil. After the massage, put on a pair of clean cotton socks and for the best effect, repeat before getting into bed in the evening. Not only will the skin of your sole be softer the following day, the massaging will also enhance the blood supply of your feet.

  1. Epsom salt foot bath
Dissolve a ½ cup of Epsom salt in a basin of water and enjoy the warmth spreading through your body. The magnesium contained in the Epsom salt helps relax, and regular foot baths help improve the circulation in your feet.

  1. Time for some ginger
Dissolve a teaspoon of grated ginger and an equal amount of honey or agave syrup in a glass of lukewarm water and take multiple sips of the mixture throughout the day.

Add ginger shavings to a big jug of hot water and once cooled, douse your feet in the water several times a day.

What's even better, however, is to get some regular exercise and stop starving yourself. If you do end up skipping a meal, make sure you have some snack rich in magnesium.
