A special vegan ice cream that even your skin will love

Have you ever made ice cream from a single ingredient? If you haven’t, it’s time to do it. Bananas make a perfect base material not only for face masks but for ice cream too.

If you don’t like milk or have lactose- or milk protein intolerance, you know what a hassle it is to find ice cream that’s free from milk. Most ice cream powders (used for ice creams and ice lollies you can buy in shops and patisseries) are full of additives, aromas, colours, preservatives and in most cases, they contain far too much sugar and fat.

None of those ingredients do your skin any good. If you suffer from eczema or acne you are better off consuming as little as possible of them.

I recently stumbled upon an ice cream recipe where the ice cream is made of bananas and without any added sugar, fat, milk, nuts, additives or gluten.
Bananas are high in calcium, magnesium and potassium and helps to prevent high blood pressure. It promotes healthy digestion and helps to prevent infections that might cause diarrhoea. It’s suitable for babies and young children from a very early age because it’s healthy, nourishing and non-allergenic.

For a long time, I’ve been looking for ways to make good DIY ice cream without a machine or other costly equipment. To make different types of ice cream in decent volume.

It’s almost impossible to make enough (and diverse enough) ice lollies by the time the guests arrived. I needed a more time- and space-efficient option.

It takes nothing more than a few ripe bananas and a rod mixer. I counted 1.5 bananas per person. I peeled and sliced the bananas, sealed them in an airtight box and but the package into the freezer for the night. The next day, I transferred the frozen banana slices into the fridge for a few hours and allowed them to melt – otherwise, the mixer would have struggled In a minute or so, I mixed the semi-frozen fruit into white, frothy banana ice cream.
