Get your morning off to a different start and it will change your whole day!



A few months ago, I already wrote about how you could make your weekday mornings smoother, preventing anxiety and doing things in a rush. However, today’s post will show that it’s enough to make a few simple changes to your regular routine to change your whole day.

Let’s see what these are:


The way you wake up is of key importance


I’m not just talking about the time your alarms goes off or what ringtone you use, but rather the things you do in the first moments after waking. Do you turn the alarm off and beg for five more minutes? Do you do a few stretches or jump straight out of bed still half asleep? Every little thing matters.

You surely figured out by know that you can do the most for your joints and spine by first lying on your side and then sitting up, slowly stretching your limbs and only then should you get out of bed.

Did you ever stop to think about how much time you give yourself after waking before checking your messages and letters on your phone, or do you start zoning out at once while reading up on what happened last night? It’s important not to flood your mind with stimuli right after waking up. The best would be to put off exhausting your eyes with a glowing screen for a few hours, but I know full well that’s practically impossible. Nevertheless, you should try putting it off for at least fifteen minutes before you start scanning the pages and dealing with all the issues that come up.


Try finding a coffee replacement


The summer’s here, so it’s worth trying to replace caffeine-based beverages and starting the day with fresh, room temperature water or lemon water. It facilitates your digestion and helps your body raise your blood pressure at a natural tempo, it refreshes your breath and according to some sources, it can even help you lose weight. However, when starting your day with some lemon water, make sure to put off brushing your teeth for half an hour, since the abrasion could damage your enamels.


Meditate, stretch, exercise

Let you mind and body get off to a slow start - the best solution is devoting a few minutes to these exercises in the morning. Purge your thoughts and learn how to focus and feel your body stirring! Be careful with stretching, yet keep in mind that even more intensive exercise can be useful in the morning: it recently transpired that exercises performed on an empty stomach are a super effective way of accelerating your metabolism.

Think over the day ahead of you

While stirring, think about all the things ahead of you, what you’d like to accomplish during the day, and what tasks and deadlines you have to face. If you like refreshing morning showers, then you surely know that the best ideas come when standing in a fragrant mist.
