New Year, New Resolutions!
Do you also promise every year to pay more attention to your health from January, but get fed up after a few days only for things to carry on as before in the previous year?
If so, then today's blog post is for You! :)
A few minor distractions can easily ruin your plans for the New Year, making it harder for you to get back to your newly introduced routines. A few days of illness or a tougher week at work and you could easily find yourself doing the same things you did in the past.
Here's how to develop new habits:It's not hard at all; according to experts, all you need is 4 weeks to replace your old, stubborn habits and get used to your new routines. Four weeks isn't such a long time, although if the objective you've chosen is too challenging, it could seem like an eternity.
The good news is that three days is enough to introduce minor changes and if you're clever enough, you can build them into your daily routine - like stretching in the morning or drinking a glass of water after waking up.
So what's the secret?
The most important thing to pinpoint is what sidetracks you: Stuffing yourself after a skipped meal? Not bothering to start your planned morning workout or evening run because you're too exhausted? Lacking the patience to consider what you're having for lunch the following day? Getting fed up and bored by going to the store every day to make sure you have fresh food at the house?
If you think these over and consciously realize the various factors, then figure out what preventive routines and good habits you could follow up with, you've already done a lot to achieve success in your undertaking.
It's just like having a glass of water before meals when going on a diet: it helps you focus on your feelings and gives you enough time to stick to your goals instead of making hasty decisions.
Good luck and stay persistent!
