Prepare your skin for summer

Give or take the showers and the odd dip in temperatures, summer has finally arrived to our shores.

Come June and July and you’ll probably jet out to get your fair share of unabated sunshine on a sandy beach. Packing already? Make sure you consider a few things to protect your skin throughout the hot days, weeks and months.

What you will need

First off, you will need a reliable cream deodorant:
antiperspirants, hair removal in the armpits and especially shaving can give you a lot of trouble in the form of painful, swollen skin. If you spot anything of the sort, avoid further irritation of the affected area and give your sweat glands a few days to unblock themselves. Free of chemicals and aluminium, Manna cream deodorants ensure that you stay fresh throughout the day whilst gently nourishing those sensitive skin areas. They do all that without blocking your body’s natural heating process or the exit of toxins.

Scrubs: Whether it’s about achieving a nice, even tan or avoiding callus and blocked hair follicles, summer makes it even more important to remove dead skin cells regularly.

For scrubbing thin, sensitive areas I recommend Coco Salt soap which is made with coconut oil and shea butter and provides a gentle massage too. An even gentler alternative: once you have washed off the Alginite Skin Regeneration Mask, give your skin a massage with circular movements using your wet hands. Then just let the tiny grains of the mask do their job.

Switch to a lighter facial care product: Argan Oil
, Sweet Almond Oil and Organic Shea Butter will do a great job during the summer too.

Keep a bottle of refreshing flower water on you at all times:
fragrant and floral, it will provide instant refreshment to your skin and hair.

Don’t forget your sun cream!
The ideal sun cream is the one you can use all day, from the minute you step out onto the street. Choose one that contains zinc-oxide. Mind that buying a cream with an SPF higher than 30 is not value for money as it won’t give you that much extra protection at all. It’s important to protect all areas that are exposed to sunlight. Use the cream every 2 hours if you stay in the sun longer.
