You feel like you have to get outside - right now?

You've been locked inside for days and only move from one heated apartment to the next? Perhaps you feel like you can't take any more treats no matter how delicious they look and you're fed up with the constant glare of lamplight?

If you don't do sports, I suggest you shouldn't start now, since the winter would probably put the most burden on you. Wait a few days and prepare yourself for the unusually great exertion. Eat less meat, dairy products and lighter dishes and drink more liquids, in the form of water, tea or even soup.

However, you should definitely make the most of the calm period: go for long walks in the fresh air, even twice a day, and you'll see that even this small exercise will greatly improve your mood and general sense of wellbeing.

I hope I don't have to tell you how important it is to protect your skin by dressing up well: at times like this you simply must wear a hat, scarf, and gloves. If you have dry or sensitive skin, or are coping with eczema, make sure you don't sweat under the layers of clothing - this is something you have to take care of yourself. Apply some shea butter on your sensitive facial or hand skin before heading out, or perhaps some nurturing beauty oil to protect it from drying out. If you feel a bit cold when you get home, only wash your hands in lukewarm water, since hot water can damage your skin.

If you want to go to a sauna to sweat out the toxins, I suggest you only have a light, possibly meat-free dinner the night before and make sure you get enough liquids, since this can facilitate your body's detoxifying processes. Take your favourite Manna soap for showering after the sauna along with a bottle of non-sparkling mineral water or coconut water to drink when necessary.
