Lavender essential oil
The essential oil of lavender is one of the oldest known medicines. Even our ancestors knew lavender for It's ability to cure both physical pain and anxiety.
Lavender is endemic in Southern France, Italy, Dalmatia, Britain and Tasmania – but luckily, it’s now widely grown wherever the conditions are right.
The fields and ways of its use are incredibly numerous so it’s no exaggeration that lavender’s is one of the most versatile essential oils around.
Warning: In overdose it causes excitement. The use of Lavender essential oil is not advised for pregnant women with low blood pressure. It may cause allergic reactions in those who are intolerant to it.
How to use

- You can vaporise it (e.g. in aroma lamp), its floral scent will create a romantic atmosphere in the whole house and it will perk you up!
- If you want a relaxing evening bath, add 4-5 drops to your bathwater – and you will find yourself on a wonderful lavender field.
- Apart from tea tree essential oil, lavender essential oil is the only essential oil that you can apply directly to your skin (though carefully and in small quantities) e.g. by rubbing it in. It’s also safe to use on babies and children.
