Incredibly lush, sweet floral scent

Ylang ylang essential oil

Ylang Ylang is an endemic plant in the Philippines, Madagascar and the Comoro Islands. In the Malay language, ylang ylang means ‘The Flower of Flowers’. The title is well-deserved as ylang ylang has an incredibly voluptuous, sweet, floral scent. About 50 kg freshly picked flowers yield 1 kg ylang ylang essential oil as they go through a process involving vapour distillation.

What can you use it for?

  • Mixed with shea butter or other natural oils to treat dry skin (it regulates the activity of sebaceous glands, restores balance and reduces oiliness)
  • Mixed in shea butter or other natural oils it treats wrinkles and helps prevent early aging
  • It gives a great boost to your bathwater and your mood – but don’t use it undiluted: mix it with coconut milk or honey before adding it to the water
  • Its characteristic, exotic floral scent will make you smile at once – use it as for skin care or vaporise it in aroma lamp

Similarly to other 100% pure Manna essential oils ylang ylang has an intense scent so you only need to use a few drops at a time.

Warning: in high concentration or overdose it may cause headaches and nausea. Ylang Ylang essential oil is not advised for pregnant women with low blood-pressure. It may cause allergic reactions in those who are intolerant to it.
