3 facial care mistakes to avoid

Skin conditions are often caused by a few bad habits: using harsh chemicals, allergenic additives, infrequently cleaned bathroom essentials, etc. Here are the things that should top your list of concerns:

You may not be using the right cosmetics

Once you have decided to use natural, chemical-free cosmetics, you still have to find the ones that fit your skin type. We can make this easier for you with our skin type test.

How do you know you have found the right one? Choose a facial cleansing soap that doesn’t leave your skin stretchy after face wash but still does a great job at removing sebum and impurities from your skin.

You may ‘over-scrub’ your skin

Too frequent or too harsh scrubbing may lead to dry skin and/or spots. For facial scrub, choose COCO Salt Soap, the Manna soap with fine-grain salt. After face wash, make sure you dab excess moisture from your skin gently, without harming your skin’s sensitive sebum mantle. If that oily layer is broken your skin will be more prone to moisture loss which may cause extra sebum production and dehydration. It may also become more vulnerable to infections and early aging.

Your face wash water might be too hot

Never wash your face with hot water as it could also upset your skin’s natural balance. That’s one of the reasons why it’s ill-advised to wash your face under the shower (no matter how convenient it might be).
