Do you feel like you're under a lot of pressure? Are you overburdened, have time for nothing and can't figure out how to recharge your batteries?

You can experience stress up to fifty times on an average day. In situations like this, your body's cortisol and adrenaline levels increase and your body enters into a special condition of readiness. This is an ancient reaction to fight, protect yourself or flee from the threats you're faced with. At a time, this was a highly useful reaction which, however, has become exaggerated and unnecessary by today and it also has a bad effect on your skin and the health of your entire body.


Spots, wrinkles, early aging, hair loss, dandruff, eczema

If you're under too much pressure and stress is practically a constant fixture of your life due to work, certain people or constant worrying, it will surely have an effect on your skin. Pale, lifeless skin, wrinkles under your eyes, spots, acne, and resurfacing eczema might indicate that it's time to achieve a sense of balance in your life. Chronic stress can lead to numerous health problems, including digestive disorders, inflammations and even serious diseases on the long run. Premature aging, which becomes noticeable on your face and skin are merely external signs of these matters.

How to cut down on the stress in your life?


  • First of all, try considering all the things which make you uptight during the day. It's best to write them down on a piece of paper and then go over them point by point to see what you can do about them. I'm sure you can eliminate quite a few of them by paying a little more attention. (For example, if you're always in a rush in the morning, this previous post of mine was written just for you!)

  • Find the stress relief technique that works the best for you: a pleasant bath in the tub, sauna, aromatherapy, or a massage? Yoga breathing exercises, reading, a long walk or perhaps a lengthy, endorphin-releasing run?

The most important thing is to learn to devote time to yourself and not to let yourself get buried in your tasks. Meet with some friends, watch a good film, start a new series, enrol in a class and never ever regret the time and energy spent resting and replenishing your stores. If necessary, set a reminder on your phone or make a note in your diary since you must be important for yourself.

You'll see how grateful your skin and body will be for the care and attention they receive.
