3+1 natural tips to cope with stress

Are you flooded with work, your calendar is full and sometimes you even lose track of all the things you have to do? Are you filled with anxiety and worries and when you try to fall asleep at night, you can't stop thinking about the challenges you have to face the following day? This isn't just exhausting, but if it becomes prolonged and you can't cope with it, stress can even lead to serious health issues. It goes without saying that it ages you as well. Grey hairs, wrinkles and crow's feet can appear from one day to the next, and as they spread, they clearly indicate that you feel stressed. Those with the tendency already know that it can cause eczema and acne to appear which can make it hard for you to cheerfully and confidently get through these days and weeks.

If you feel like you're living in constant tension which doesn't motivate or inspire you, but rather robs you of your energy and exhausts you, yet you can't eliminate the causes, it's time for you to stand your ground and introduce new habits and practices.

On my blog, I've already wrote about how foodstuffs, and fragrant baths can come to your aid, what having a conscious presence is like and even how walking or hiking in a wooded park, forest or in the mountains can help if you wish to silence your thoughts and seek physical and mental recreation .

However, there are other, simpler and faster tips you should know about that you can practically use anywhere and anytime. Here's a list of some of them.

  • Take a deep breath!
If you've ever attended a yoga class, you know how important the role of breathing is on your state of mind. There are simple techniques, such as deep, abdominal breathing or inhaling through your nose and slowly exhaling through your mouth, which help focus, ease the stress and supply your brain with enough oxygen to make you feel calmer and more concentrated within a matter of minutes. It recently transpired that medical examinations have also confirmed these age-old experiences and proper breathing can indeed ease your tension.
  • Take short, yet substantial breaks!
Whether you're studying, working or performing some task which requires prolonged concentration, taking short breaks can be a great form of refreshment. Fix yourself a cup of tea or a refreshing glass of lemonade and savour its taste with slow sips. Focus on the feelings it evokes, which is a great way of diverting your attention from the things that exhaust you and tie you down. Even a few minutes of respite can make everything better, you'll see!
  • Change your perspective!
Do you feel helpless, nothing seems to work out and you keep having bad experiences? I am almost certain this isn't entirely true, even if that's how you feel. Just think about everything you've achieved recently, all your small successes and list all the things you're satisfied with in your life and the people you can rely on – you'll feel much better and more open and trusting even when faced with truly difficult situations.
