Shortly before the Olympics, one of the most reputed medical science journals published a study about the topic.

It turns out that sitting all day (for work or study) and following up with some sitting in front of the telly or other screen is incredibly unhealthy – in fact, it’s almost fatal.
Doctors compared its health risks to those of smoking as they had found links between years of working seated and cardiovascular diseases as well as cancer.

What can you do to avoid those risks?

  • Researchers say that those health risks can be eliminated by 1 hour of moderately intense exercise per day

  • An even more encouraging piece of news: you don’t need to do that 1 hour of exercise all in one go at a gym – you can split it up to several shorter sessions.

  • Fast-paced walk, cycling to work in the morning, a good 5-minute stretching every hour or even a visit to another floor at the office can also help a lot.

Are you sitting in front of your screen too much? Do you feel like you’re falling through the door after work, too knackered to move? Try to figure out how you could exercise 1 hour a day! You don’t even have to go to a gym if that’s not your game.
