Beautiful, wholesome lips in 4 easy steps
We often forget to take care of our mouth just as our facial skin and that we mustn't wait until it grows taut, starts peeling or gets cracked. Moreover, as the weather gets colder, even those who drink enough fluids and normally have no such issues must deal with dry lips.
But what makes your lips so dry?
Dehydration, cold weather, the dry air in our living space and a lack of a proper supply of vitamins. There can be many reasons for this sensitive area to dry out, become flabby and less appealing. In the following, I'll summarize the things You can do to make sure your lips stay healthy and nicely groomed.
Lip-Care in 4 Steps
In the case of our lips, we can achieve great results by resorting to classic measures. Our skin is an organ which quickly responds and mirrors our condition and the processes taking place in our body. Once we notice these signs, we can provide for the harmonious, lovely and healthy appearance of our lips and spectacularly improve their condition by following these four simple steps:
Renewal – removing dead, redundant layers of tissue
First, we have to gently remove the desiccated, tiny pieces of skin on the surface of the lips. We can easily accomplish this by massaging and scrubbing the surface of the lips with the bristles of a toothbrush once per week. This will leave a silky-smooth and light surface and you'll notice a fresh, livelier layer of skin appearing which more easily absorbs lip balm. You can enhance the effectiveness of this technique by preparing a homemade lip scrub, for example with a blend of salt/sugar and olive oil or with a combination of honey and sugar. What's important is to use a chemical-free mixture and to use a granular ingredient which helps remove undesirable cells. Don't forget that in such cases the exposed surface is especially vulnerable to chemical and environmental factors, thus it's definitely time to provide for the care of the lip skin.
Care – providing appropriate protection
You can apply one of our Manna lip balms several times a day.
Greasing – when you simply must use lipstick
If you must use some lipstick, choose a natural version - regardless of formulas, you are free to choose a product which contains no chemicals and has a greasier, more nurturing consistency. You can even apply a layer of greasier lip balm under the lipstick. Don't forget, this is the least you can do to protect your lips!
Packs – if things take a turn for the worse
Sometimes, your lips can end up in a poor condition and you need some more substantial lip care. What can you do about it? Apply some honey on your lips and leave it on for 10-20 minutes. You can intensify the effect with some high fat-content cream. Make sure to precede the pack with the toothbrush cleansing technique.
