Here's how to survive winter!
Do you love winter, the sparkling cold, fragrant hot saunas, snowy ski slopes, and winter forests? Or do you long for spring after the holidays? I sometimes get terribly fed up with the darkness, the cold and the lack of fresh vegetables and fruit and miss the balmy breezes, thin clothes and the time spent outdoors instead of the constant winter frost and muck.
Still, there are a few tricks that can help you feel like the increasingly short, yet still rather lengthy nights aren't so endless and depressing at all and coping with all the thick layers of clothing and shivering, icy cold weather.
No, I'm not suggesting you hibernate during the winter months, but if the lengthy season takes a toll on you and you feel like you have no energy whatsoever, then you should truly consider slowing down a bit, like the people living in the northern countries, and adopting a different view on the period.
Whether you're alone or with others, you can try establishing small, pampering routines, keeping everything at arm's reach and stop fretting and forcing yourself to always rush like you do in the rest of the year. Listen to your body and your intuitions, since now is not the time for you to deal with truly demanding undertakings.
Slow down, pamper yourself, establish a sense of comfort and warmth in your surroundings and enjoy the peace and quiet!
