My five favourite natural beauty care tips

I started reading natural beauty care tips, articles and studies quite some time ago and perhaps it's no exaggeration to say that I've heard of thousands of home remedies and tricks by now. Some of these are harmless and ineffective, yet a handful of them can be harmful to a certain degree, yet fortunately there are truly effective, practical and cheap tips which always work.

The reason why I love them is because they prove that hundreds of cosmetics can be replaced with common ingredients found in your kitchen or pantry and they help radically cut down on the number of chemicals coming into contact or entering your body.

So let's see how natural, cheap foodstuffs available in almost any shop can be used for beauty care purposes:

Weekend facial mask for oily skin

If you're vegan, you can puree a lot of different fruits and apply them on your face, for example, strawberries, grapes or even tomatoes can be used to treat inflammation. Still, most natural beauty care tips opt for honey when seeking for a gentle, deep cleansing ingredient for a mask in your kitchen. You can mix it with yogurt or even add a few drops of lemon juice. Your reward will be matt, silky smooth skin with fine pores.

For teeth whitening

Instead of the well-known baking soda, you can use turmeric for the occasional teeth whitening. When mixed with water and used as toothpaste, this deep yellow, mild-scented spice from India can help remove the discolouration of your teeth. It's true that it has a strong colour and you have to rinse your mouth quite a few times to remove the yellow tint from your gums, yet according to experts, it's far gentler on your enamel than pure white, scentless and tasteless baking soda.

Getting rid of the tiny bumps on the back of your arms

As I already wrote before, this phenomenon which seems like a case of constant goose bumps is not a serious skin problem and its treatment doesn't require any special creams. All you have to do is regularly and gently scrub your skin and provide for its hydration. Others indicate an even simpler method: just apply sour cream on your skin twice or three times a week and its natural ingredients will take care of this minor aesthetic issue.

Treating the dark circles under your eyes

Perhaps under eye care is the first thing all women carefully focus on starting in their twenties. The good news is that if you drink enough liquids and don't rub the sensitive skin surrounding your eyes and protect it from getting dry, then you can most probably avoid having any dark circles and tiny, gradually deepening wrinkles or bags under your eyes. It doesn't take any miracles to provide for a radiant gaze in a matter of minutes, all you need is two slices of fresh cucumbers, fresh potatoes or cold black tea bags. You can also try the parsley trick, which recommends regularly taking care of your under eye skin with a paste made from crushed, pressed, fresh parsley leaves rich in vitamins and antioxidants mixed with yogurt or plain, filtered water.

Sugar and salt for calluses

I've been using this trick for years and I recommend everyone to try scrubbing their skin with salt or sugar which, when mixed with essential oil and beauty oils, can be used to make great scrubs in the comfort of your own home. At our workshop, we add powdered luffa gourd and ground grape seeds to our fragrant mixture of oils in order to provide our Manna fans with an even more enjoyable scrub. :)
