Are your feet ready for the summer?

For me, May is all about the promise of summer: the weather changes quickly and sometimes it rains, yet it also grants a few amazing early summer days. I remember that for many years now, I keep wondering before mother's day whether I can pull out my light summer dresses or perhaps that joyful Sunday will surprise me with less pleasant weather?

This year, I decided that no matter what the weather had in store kicked in for me, I'd put all the thick sweaters and coats away for the winter. It's time to break out the summer flip-flops, my favourite sandals and open toe shoes and bring on the season of summer grill parties and outdoor evening discussions I've been daydreaming about for weeks!

So what can you do to make your legs and feet look good in shorts, miniskirts and sandals? I quickly compiled my 5 recommendations for soft heels and silky-smooth legs.

  • It's time for scrubs and luffa sponge! Manna scrubs are made from entirely natural ingredients while their fragrance is simply divine. Try our sugar and grape powder scrub as well as our salty, luffa and sweet biscuit-scented scrubs or if it's more comfortable for you, our luffa sponges made from the inside of the luffa gourd are a great choice for scrubbing your skin. The salt and sugar granules gently massage your skin while pampering it with nourishing oils.

  • It's time for hair removal on the day after using scrubs (I definitely don't recommend doing it earlier) for which you can use silky coconut oil to replace shaving foam or shaving soap.

  • If your heels, soles or knees have the tendency to grow dry and craggy, I recommend using shea butter made from the fruit of the karite trea for everyday care. It's one of my favourite natural cosmetic ingredients and you can find it on the virtual Manna shelves in fragrant, scent-free, organic and premium quality versions.

It's a real jack-of-all-trades since you can use it as a facial cream and under eye cream replacement, after sunbathing and swimming or as a simple body lotion. A single jar is enough when travelling and it's so versatile that you can save a lot of space in your luggage.
