Enough of dry, itchy skin in the winter!
The icy cold outside and the pleasant warmth inside take a toll on the skin of all of us. The dry warm air, the many layers of clothing and the freezing wind seem to be hell-bent on ruining your skin. Chapped lips, rough skin on the back of your hands, raspy skin on your elbows, calluses on your heels and frequent winter itching all over from your scalp to your legs. Easily chipped nails, red nose – if that's what January is like for you, you're not the only one.
So what can you do about it?
Drink more liquids!
All you can hear about in the summer is how important it is to drink enough liquids, but people often forget about proper hydration in the winter. Keep in mind that your skin will be the first to show you're not getting enough fluids: dark circles under your eyes, dry, loose, pale skin and deeper wrinkles are a clear sign that your body needs more water.Eat healthy fats!
Many people make the mistake of embarking on a drastic diet when making fitness resolutions in January. However, your skin and hair need the vitamins and fatty acids contained in healthy, pure plant-based oils. Eat avocados, nuts, and real olive oil - the results will speak for themselves on your hair and nails!Nurture your skin with pure natural oils and butters!
Manna butters, beauty oils and whipped butters contain no palm oil, artificial fragrances, preservatives or colouring agents. If your skin is super sensitive in this time of the year, you can choose from our range of pure, unrefined, gently manufactured skincare products.Organic cocoa butter is one of my favourites in this period, since its delicious chocolate fragrance is simply unbeatable. You can use it from head to toe and it's great for facial skin or even as a lip balm.
If you're looking for an easily spreadable variant, the Whipped Cocoa body butter with organic virgin coconut oil is an airy, light dessert for your skin.
However, the best of all is the original, organic and top quality Organic shea butter. The velvety shea butter is softer than cocoa butter and is simply beyond compare when your dry, raspy skin and wind-parched face and hands need an instant remedy. It's great for the whole family and you can even use it on your baby's skin before going out for some fresh air - shea butter simply never disappoints.
As I usually say, you can practically feel the hot African sunshine from a realm beyond the reach of icy weather whenever you apply it on your skin.
Which is your favourite winter Manna?
