How to pamper your skin with oat flakes

Bathing in oat flakes or oatmeal is one of the best ways to treat itchy skin, inflamed skin and/or eczema.
This may sound new to you but in fact you can use it in a number of ways as its skin-nourishing and hydrating qualities are almost unrivalled.

Make a facial scrub

Mix a cup of oat flakes with two cups of warm water. Put it aside for 15-20 minutes. Wash your face with your favourite Manna facial cleansing soap and then give your face and neck a gentle massage with the soaked oat flakes. Finish by rinsing.

Use it for face wash, under the shower and for bathing: that’s exactly why we make your Honey&goat milk soap with olive oil, coconut oil, honey, goat milk and oats.

It makes a fantastic face mask
Make a face mask using yoghurt, honey and milk (substitute milk freely with coconut milk or almond milk). Grind ½ cup of rolling oat (or high-quality oatmeal) in a grinder. Add ¼ cup of coconut- or almond milk. You may also add 1 tbsp of cider vinegar if your skin is oily. Blend the ingredients and spread the mix on your face. Leave it on for 20 minutes so that it can do its job. Finish by rinsing it off gently, with tepid water.

+1 Make a breakfast or dessert rich in antioxidants
Oat fibre promotes healthy digestion and metabolism and therefore it’s very useful when it comes to improving the health of problem skin. Add fruit to your oat muesli or oat porridge: choose red, dark blue or purple berries such as blueberries and plums. Their antioxidants will also help to keep in check those free radicals that are activated by harmful sun radiation and they will also make you more resilient against diseases.
