Sleeping Beauty – 3 beauty tips for the night

There’s no one who wouldn’t be happy to wake up after long hours of deeply relaxing sleep to find their skin soft and radiant and their hair brilliantly healthy. Sleep promotes beauty. Getting enough sleep at night will help you beat some skin conditions, eye rings as well as premature aging. Today’s post will give you some tips on how to maximise the benefits of sleep.

Change your bed sheets

Experts swear by silk pillow cases as they put the least strain on your hair. But if you don’t have them, don’t worry – there are still plenty of things you can do to allow your body and skin perfect regeneration after a long day. Whether you have dry, sensitive or spotty skin, it’s always advisable to put clean bed sheets on every week. Sebum, grease and dead skin cells stuck to your pillowcases can turn your sheets into a hotbed for bacteria. And then, there are mites whose presence makes pillow cleaning a must too – after all, you rest your head night after night on those pillows. For sweet dreams’ sake you may spray some flower water on your pillow to help you unwind.

Overnight hair mask

If you have dry, tired hair and you lack the time for a organic, virgin oconut-, argan- or sweet almond oil hair mask during the day, you can always put one on for the night. Just massage a tiny bit of any of those oils into your wet hair or hair tips and cover your head with a shampoo cap. Come morning, wash your hair with your favourite hair wash soap and rinse with tepid water and a few tablespoons’ of lemon juice or cider vinegar.

Tired skin on the hands and feet

A skin-softening exercise that always works: after a gentle scrub, massage a blob of your favourite Manna shea butter into your wet skin. If your skin is irritated or sensitive, skip the scrubbing and use shea butter only – in that case you may use a bit more of it than usual. Then put on textile gloves or wear cotton socks during the night – if it’s your feet that need extra care.

Sweet dreams!
