Yet another country to end the sale of cruel cosmetics

Did you know that testing cosmetics on animals is prohibited in all EU countries? However, animal rights organisations have been struggling to convince cosmetics companies operating in other (non-EU) countries to stop testing their products on small animals – mostly on rabbits, guinea pigs and other rodents.

Out of the world’s nearly 200 countries, only 35 have banned animal testing so far.

Animal testing is not just to see whether or not a product causes allergic reactions and harmful side effects. Often, lab staff uses skin-irritating substances like SLS (link: Struggling to get rid of skin flushing? Reasons and fixes) to irritate the skin of the animals and observe how a certain cosmetic product affects inflamed, irritated skin.
Animal rights activists and a lot of people who simply like animals are working worldwide to let everyone know: the suffering of animals is unnecessary and disproportionate.

That’s why we take extra care to ensure that no Manna ingredient has been tested on animals – regardless of its country of origin.

Our efforts have been officially recognised by Cruelty Free International – that’s why you’ll find their Leaping Bunny label on all Manna products.
