One more reason against palm oil
Last May, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a report according to which carcinogenic substances are produced during the manufacturing of some refined vegetable oils.
According to research, palm oil heated over 200 degrees Celsius contains carcinogenic compounds - agents which cause cancer. Therefore it can be considered unhealthy and is particularly hazardous for the youngest, unprotected children, babies and toddlers.
Do you know what and how the things you eat and apply on your skin are made from?
When visiting the nearby supermarket, you might be able to identify a few products containing palm oil: peanut butter, biscuits, margarine, desserts, snacks, chocolates and even infant formula.
However, it might come as a surprise that palm oil is used for making numerous shower gels, shampoos, creams, body lotions and cosmetic products and even a significant portion of natural cosmetics contains palm oil.
It's uncertain what the European authorities' plans are to make palm oil safer, yet the issue is on the agenda of the European Parliament. I'll write more about the matter once the details are revealed.
None of our Manna products contain palm oil!
I already wrote about all the reasons why we don't use palm oil in our Manna products.I hope you already heard about the strain the establishing of oil palm plantations and the palm oil business is putting on our planet: every hour, 300 football pitches worth of rainforest is being destroying across the globe, which greatly contributes to global warming and brings countless species to the verge of extinction, including orangutans, elephants, tigers and rhinos.
All of this for the sole purpose of providing the food and cosmetic industries for cheap, multi-purpose palm oil.
