Who doesn't remember the first tips they were given by their mother as a teenager? It might sound childishly simple now, but we often only realise in our late twenties that our mother was right or that the old-fashioned beauty tips of our grandmother work like a charm.
These are the TOP 10 beauty tips I was given by my mother:always wash your face before going to bed and never, ever fall asleep with your makeup on
- regularly replace the towels used to dry your face and your pillow cases
- a cup of camomile tea does wonders for swollen or inflamed eyes and it's a great mild sedative which can even be used to treat flushed skin or inflamed acne
- don't let your skin dry out, always treat your skin from head to toe after showering or bathing
- visit your beautician on a regular basis, if for no other reason than to make your skin prettier with a great facial massage
- an infusion of nettle leaves gives your hair a lovely shine
- always wear gloves in the cold months to take care of the thin skin on the back of your hands and to preserve their youthful state for a longer period of time
- never go out under the sun without sunscreen and a broad brimmed hat
- if you have greasy or combination skin, make sure your hair doesn't cover your forehead, since that only aggravates the problem
- a few minutes of rest or sleep can smooth your features and make your face look more relaxed.
